I painted this sneaker as part of an exhibition called “unfancy,” in which I wanted to portray simple, classic & timeless fashion staples within the context of high art and design. These pieces are so completely nuanced, and yet they give the viewer an air of simplicity, freshness, and complete lack of pretense. If you’re already a sneakerhead, here’s a new way to indulge. If weren’t into sneakers before, I might have just ruined you.
